The Timesetters ministry is interested in finding volunteers to partner with a ministry called Common Grace. Common Grace was originated by a couple of pastors from Kaimuki Christian Church where volunteers went to a nearby elementary school to just be a friend to a lonely child. Al Kalama decided to partner with this ministry since the tutoring and volunteering at a care facility did not get the response expected. The first training session had 20 volunteers attend from 51 people from HCKB who initially signed up on one weekend at the church services.
Other ways of getting involved is just showing up on campus to give some time in helping upkeep our church campus by weeding around our planted areas and in the church office, book store and giving our head maintenance man, August Erlandiz, a hand in what needs to be done. The other is joining on to a mission team that may be planning to go back to Japan in 2008 or 2009 or on the next Dominican Republic team headed by Rob McWilliams.
On Friday mornings, a crew of Timesetters convene from 8:30am sharp to put
together the church bulletin to be handed out at the door at all the weekend services. They stay after all the work is done to eat and fellowship with each other and also singing songs of old or praise and worship songs. If you want to have fun with these people feel free to join them every Friday morning at 8:30am. Call Colleen at 235-5814 for further information.
