TEACHINGS
God gives us vision or insight into His plans for our lives. We often watch that vision turn to dust, at which point we intensely engage God. After awhile the vision is fulfilled (often not quite as we saw it). Along the way, God has drawn us into deeper relationship with him.
The HCKB Youth ministries exist to win the world to Christ through God's power in us.
YOUTH PASTOR: Tom Landeza
STOKED SERVICES
Our high school church service, "STOKED", is held on Sunday evenings from 7:00-8:30pm. Come and hear God's Word taught clearly and creatively by our Youth Pastor, Tom Landeza. Pastor Tom uses a down-to-earth and inspiriting approach to communicate the scriptures to our youth. Experience the power of God through worship led by our youth worship teams.
MINICHURCH
This is where our students meet weekly in homes for snacks, worship, Bible discussion and life application, prayer, hanging out and making friends. This is the next step from being a Sunday night attender, to actually getting "plugged in" to our awesome group.
CAMPS AND RETREATS
It's been said you can do more with students in a weekend of camping than in six months of Sunday School. We agree 100%. That's why we have so many camps and retreats each year:
- Spring Camp is a combined Jr. High and Sr. High camp in March.
- Summer Camp is a combined Jr. High and Sr. High camp in July.
- Go Camp is a discipleship/work camp for those that want to serve and go to a deeper level in their Christianity in October.
- "Shine" Camp is for Sr. High girls in November.
- "Solid" Camp is for Sr. High guys in December.
These cams are designed to give students a life-changing experience that allows them to make friends and draws them closer to Jesus.
ACTIVITIES
We have various events and activities that occur throughout the year. These include: theme parties, The Squeeze, The Lounge, surf retreats, beach days, ice-skating, Focus worship nights, after-Stoked fun nights, scavenger hunts, lock-ins, hiking, bowling and also individual Minichurch events.
Missions
Our church has a calling to take the Gospel to Japan. In following that calling, we send youth missions teams from the Jr. High and Sr. High Ministries to Japan every year. We take a 10 day missions trip for the love of Christ. It is an awesome trip for those who travel there, and we have found that those who go develop a true heart and love for Japan and it's people who need the Lord.
