How did you come to HCKB? I'm from Honoka'a on the Big Island.  When I moved back after graduating from Boston College, I moved to Oahu to attend graduate school. I needed a home church that had night services because I worked Sunday mornings.  My dad listened to Pastor Ralph's sermon on the radio and kept telling me to check out this "Hope Chapel" thing.  I'm lazy so it took me a while before I actually checked it out in 2001 and I attended Saturday night services sporadically until a year or two later when I decided it was time for me to get more involved, a.k.a. "grow up."  A simple email to Scott (whose name I got off this website) led me to a minichurch, that led to being on the leadership team...and now I volunteer with the children's church, the worship ministry, and I married that guy from the website.  That email was an excellent idea.

Ministry passion: Bottom Line: That everyone feels genuinely welcome. I would love for people to feel like they found a home and a family.  I don't want anyone to ever leave our church or our lives. It happens but I'm not a big fan.  Winning the world over to Christ is half the battle, keeping them there is the other half.

My typical weekend:
My job has rotating days off so I don't have your typical weekend.  My somewhat typical weekends are a fascinating blend of -doing laundrey, cleaning the floors and rugs (I have an obsession with vacuums and scrubbers), spending 90 minutes trying to motivate myself to go spend 30 minutes at 24 Hour Fitness Club, watching my TiVo recordings of "Gilmore Girls" and "Jon and Kate Plus 8," visiting my sister and my oodles of nieces in Waipahu, blogging and playing with Photoshop, and hanging out with my best friend, Scott.  He makes me laugh every day.

What I do for fun: See above... Photography. Holding babies (as long as they are not crying) but I have to promise Scott that I'll give them back to their rightful owners and not get any ideas.

What I'm currently listening to: "Pieces of You" by Jewel. I just got it from Amazon and it brings back memories of my freshman year of college. A mix-CD (did I make that term up?) of worship songs with Hillsong United, Chris Tomlin, and other artists I can't remember.

Books I'm reading: Any FBI thriller by James Patterson or Tami Hoag Lighting for Portrait Photography (a thriller, I'm sure)

Favorite website of the moment: Ha ha...mine-keaosunaoka.blogspot.com

Classic movies: Elf, Two Can Play That Game, Dumb and Dumber

Food I gotta have: Meadow Gold Iced Tea (I know it's not food but it's like food to my soul). Rice Curry Stew (but that was before I got braces and didn't have to worry about my bands turning fluorescent yellow)

Random dumb fact: Women blink nearly twice as much as men. (wink wink)
