Family info:

I live with my parents (Darrell and Yvonne), niece (Jordyn), grandma, my grandma’s sister (Aunty Carole), and my dog (Mochi) in a house by Castle High School, which I have lived in my whole life.  I have one older sister (Tiffany) that lives with her husband (Mike) and my two nieces (Jaycie and Danika) in Kunia.  I attended Castle High School and graduated in 2003.  From there I attended Hawaii Pacific University and recently graduated in 2007 with a Bachelor in Business Administration with a concentration in Management. 

How did you come to HCKB?

I first started coming to HCKB in the 5th grade because of my Aunty. A couple of years later I left to try and “do my own thing,” but started to get into trouble. In the summer before 8th grade I realized there had to be more to life than just getting into trouble. I knew that there was something missing in my life, but did not know what it was.  In the beginning of my 8th grade year my health teacher led me back to HCKB where I noticed a joy in the people and recognized it as something I was missing in my own life but wanted so badly. I was longing for the joy, happiness, peace, and love in my life.  Ever since than I have been an active member of HCKB.  I started volunteering in Children’s Church in 1999 and by 2001 was the Friday night nursery overseer.  By 2002 I was co-overseeing the Nursery Department and in 2003 helped with the Elementary side.  Once I graduated from High School in 2003, I started coming up to church to help in the office and in summer of 2007 I was offered a part-time job in the Children’s ministry.  After I graduated from Hawaii Pacific University in December of 2007, I was offered a full-time position.  I can truly say that I love my job and have the coolest job ever. 

Ministry passion:

As far as the kids go, my passion is seeing the kids (even those in preschool) in children’s church realize and understand who Jesus is and what he had done for them as well has walking in their authority that Christ has given them.   As far as the leaders in children’s church, my passion is to see them connect with each other and grow in the authority that Christ has also given them.  I believe that God has plans for each person and seeing the kids and leaders find that is what makes me so excited.   

Biggest influence in your life over the past year and why:

I would have to say I have a couple.  First it would be God and the Holy Spirit.  Through quiet time with God, He has showed me that He has given me the Holy Spirit and through him I am able to accomplish more than I thought I would be able to in my life time.   The Holy Spirit has opened my eyes to healing and spiritual gifts.  The funny part is that I always knew this, but over the past year or so I was introduced to it and really got to know it.  Secondly it would be the AllStars Leadership Team, especially Lori and Cindy; they have always been there to support me in everything that I do and are always there to say that I can do it.

Travels: 
To be honest I don’t really like traveling, although I have been to a few places in the US, including Disneyland and Disneyworld and to Japan on a mission trip, but recently I have not traveled. 

Hobbies:
Recently it has been reading, playing playstation, and DS, but I do enjoy going to the Lanikai beach on a nice sunny day

What you do for fun:
For fun I just like to hang out with my friends, whether it is going out or going to someone’s house.  Most of the time our outings include eat dinner and watching a movie. 

What makes you laugh:
Talking and telling stories with friends about life.
