God gives us vision or insight into His plans for our lives. We often watch that vision turn to dust, at which point we intensely engage God. After awhile the vision is fulfilled (often not quite as we saw it). Along the way, God has drawn us into deeper relationship with him.

Lived all of my childhood in Kaneohe. Moved to Kailua and Makiki as a young adult, but made my way back to Kaneohe after getting married. The truth is, I miss the convenience of living in “town”, especially living close to Ala Moana Shopping Center, Ward Centers and California Pizza Kitchen.
My sweetheart, Jeff Schultz, and I met right here at Hope Chapel Kaneohe Bay…thanks to Pastor Ralph and his “turn to your neighbor” questions. It really is a cute story since Jeff assumed I was married with children and I assumed the same was true about him. Thank God for His guidance and for good friends who supported the relationship. We share two beautiful sons, Jake Jens Kahalemanu and Luke Jeffery Kahewai, and a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Patch.
My sister and brother-in-law, Heidi and Mark Philbrick, kept inviting me and witnessing to me. I was most curious about the world coming to an end and wasn’t sure if I was going to Heaven. I actually attended several HCKB events before giving my heart to Jesus. Little did I know that the Lord was planting seeds all the way. The worship music, gracious people and Ralph’s teaching sealed the deal for me…not to mention a huge dose of the Holy Spirit. I was certainly lost at the time and searching for truth. Thank God I was found!
My passion is seeing God’s children restored and walking in their true authority. Too often Christian’s receive salvation, but continue to live their lives in bondage. Yes, the Lord offers salvation as a gift, but He also pursues our souls to heal us from past hurts and habitual sin.
It would have to be my mentor, Tisha Lehfeldt. Tisha has touched many lives during her ministry here at HCKB. She has an amazing gift of making every person in her presence feel loved and valued. Tisha has “poured” so much into my life and continues to be a great friend.
Travels
Although I’ve never had an opportunity to travel to Europe, Jeff
and I are praying for the day we can travel there together. I’ve
been blessed to have traveled to Boston, New York, San Francisco, Orlando,
Seattle, Las Vegas, Washington DC, San Diego, LA, and our beautiful neighbor
islands.
Hobbies
Making “big” meals (especially salads), reading (when I’m
not burping my baby), hanging out with family (too many members to list
here) and shopping for shoes (especially since you don’t have to
go to the fitting room).
What you do for fun
Picnic with the family at Kailua Beach. We love to pick up some bentos
and go down to the park in the late afternoon. I also enjoy going on family
walks with Jeff and the boys…thank you Lord for our double-stroller.
What makes you laugh
Watching my son, Jake, eat spaghetti. I still don’t know how he
manages to cover every inch of his face and hair with sauce and noodles.
Books
The truth is I haven’t recently read anything for “fun”
since the Da Vinci Code. I do love just about anything by Beth Moore and
Joyce Meyer.
Music
Huge U2 and UB40 fan!!! I listened to these groups BEFORE they were cool.
Oops…does that show my age? I love music and can dance to just about
anything. My other favorites are Mercy Me, Third Day, Chris Tomlin and
Sheryl Crow.
Movies
I have tons of favorites, old and new. My mom influenced us to watch classic
films and musicals, so I’ve developed an appreciation. However,
my first choice would be a chick flick like Runaway Bride, While You Were
Sleeping, Maid In Manhattan, Beaches. Oh my gosh…I’m so girlie!
TV
King of Queens is my all time favorite sitcom. This is the best show to
watch as a married couple because it makes you feel like your relationship
is going great.
