God gives us vision or insight into His plans for our lives. We often watch that vision turn to dust, at which point we intensely engage God. After awhile the vision is fulfilled (often not quite as we saw it). Along the way, God has drawn us into deeper relationship with him.
Meet Our Staff - Frank Cabacungan Pastor: "Surge!" Junior High Ministry

I suppose I'll start with the one that isn't REQUIRED to love me! Just recently I proposed to my girlfriend, Jennifer, of 8 years...I had a hunch she'd say "yes!" (I was still nervous, though). She is the person who takes center stage in the play of my life. My mom and dad are Kathryn , and Frank Cabacungan, without them I really don't know where I'd be! They have been a blessing every step of the way. Jen's family have really shined in my life as well. Oh! and I can't forget my cat, Crookshanks - he's a blast, too!
Hmmm..? I believe the words that can be used to accurately describe my emmergence in HCKB would be: "kicking and screaming." Maybe not so dramatic as that, but similar. Jen started coming in the 8th grade, but over time, stopped. She came back when she was a Freshman in College in 2002. It was my 2nd year at UH. She invited me to come, and like a polite boyfriend, I did...but not looking for God. Rather, I got to a point where I was coming with anticipation of her realizing that looking for God was a fleeting desire. I was counting the days until we could stop driving to church. Little did I know that God was doing SOMETHING in my heart. I found myself being broken by his love and compassion, his desire to have a relationship...to make a long story short...my mission to prove her God wrong was very much a failure. I love Jesus with all my heart, and through HCKB, he has changed my life for the better.
I absolutely adore all of my Jr. Highers. I love seeing them get pumped on God, and how awesome he is. I love seeing them grow into their own, and watching them care for others, as Jesus would have. I am excited to see what new things God has in store for all of us EVERY time I go in to one of our services. I can't wait to see all of them grow up, and see what's in store for their futures, and what kind of amazing impact they will make in the world.
My family, friends, co-workers, and God. Seriously, my life has been flipped-flopped around in the last year that I've taken this ministry position, and I'm grateful for every minute.
Travels:
I've been all over our country...but it's the out-of-country experiences that I really get psyched on. I've been to Mexico, and several parts of Japan. In about a year, I'll be heading over to Europe for a Honeymoon! I'm excited for that!
Hobbies:
Oh no, now I have to confess what an absolute dork I am! I must say that I don't spend to much time WATCHING T.V. Instead, I play T.V. I really love to pass the time by playing all sorts of video games: it's definitely a stress relief. I like to read (when I can find the time), cook with Jen, build movie prop replicas (it's true- i most recently finished a Ghostbusters 'proton pack'...won a halloween competition too!). I also really enjoy watching movies, and going out to eat new types of foods with family / friends.
What you do for fun:
Hang out with pals, cooking, watching movies, going out to eat, hiking, gym excursions (as spaced apart as they may be...i still like them), and visiting pet stores to fall in love with animals I can't take home at the moment.
What makes you laugh:
EVERYTHING, oh man...this gets me in trouble sometimes! It's even worse that Jen is the same way, you can't take us out anywhere without us laughing at something silly.
Books:
I'm pretty open to any kind of genre when it comes to non-fiction titles. I've read a lot of Christian authors, too. GUYS: READ CAPTIVATING (it will help you understand women more!)
Music:
Anything that allows me to dance like a maniac...but not country, I can't get into that stuff.
Movies:
The superhero movies are always fun, EPIC movies like Lord of the Rings, fantasy movies, action, girly teary eyed movies (The Notebook, anyone?) I like them ALL.
TV:
Lost, although I really am quite behind in the series...hence, I too am 'Lost.' I used to like Smallville, but they changed networks on me, and now it only shows on the special digital t.v. connection, and I just have the old kind of cable (sigh). So now I'm behind on every T.V. show I like. I have been known to watch the detective shows in the past. I find that there's nothing I want to commit to on T.V. other than those mentioned, but whent I do flip it on...I find myself on the discovery channel - there's ALWAYS something to discover on that channel - Ha
